Our Staff
David H. "Flash" Vaia is the owner of Vaia Funeral Home, Inc. He attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and graduated with honors.
Flash’s son, Anthony J. “Tony” Vaia is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science as well as a licensed insurance agent. Tony has furthered his education to become a NFDA Certified Pre-Planning Consultant.
Both Flash and Tony are members of the National, Pennsylvania and Westmoreland County Funeral Directors Associations.
A funeral director is always available to assist you in your time of need to help
with pre-need arrangements or just to answer questions.
Kimberly Vaia is in the office every weekday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. She welcomes visitors who just need to talk or wish to look around. If you have questions she is unable to answer, she will call one of the funeral directors to assist you.
Our Facilities
Vaia Funeral Home, Inc., was newly constructed and opened its doors in 1996.
It was designed and built by the Vaia Family (whom you have known and trusted at Twin Valley Memorial Park for over 50 years) with your comfort and convenience in mind. We offer you a dignified 9000 square foot facility. The entire outside of the funeral home is covered with white Indiana limestone. There is a drive through carport offering shelter from the rain and heated in the winter for your safety and convenience.
The building was designed with NO steps anywhere. Everything is on one floor and completely handicapped accessible. A wheelchair is also available for those who need extra assistance.
All rooms open into our lounge which is tastefully furnished and comfortable.
There are four elegant viewing rooms which can be used individually or opened to accommodate large families.
We have a children's room with toys so they can play while their parents greet family and friends. Our playroom is located right off the lounge so mom and dad can keep an eye on the kids.
A coffee lounge is provided for your convenience. The coffee and tea pots are always on!!
